Beautiful Hotel, Great location (De La Ville Intercontinental Hotel Rome)
Member Name: LOUISESLOCKWOOD
Advantages: Location, quality of the accommodation, great staff Disadvantages: Restaurant very expensive I stayed at the De La Ville in July this year. We stayed in a junior suite and our stay was nothing short of magnificent. The hotel is located 30 yards from the top of the Spanish Steps, although you cannot see the steps from the rooms due to the positioning of the hotel. Our room had views over the Villa Borghese and we had a huge sun terrace accessed from the french doors in the bedroom. The hotel is in a great location for sightseeing and most of the tourist attractions are within easy walking distance of the hotel. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are wonderful, especially the concierge. The food in the hotel is superb although I would recommend eating out, as the hotel restaurant is very pricey (£25 continental breakfast) and there are plenty of lovely small italian restaurants within a few hundred yards of the hotel. If you are up and about early, Babbingtons Tea Rooms are at the bottom of the steps, although you will again pay top prices to eat or drink here. I am looking forward to returning to Rome in the very near future and will definately be staying at the Intercontinental De La Ville again. Summary: Wonderful hotel, great location, |
