Advantages: Excellant location, Fantastic experience, Cooked beakfast

Disadvantages: The pool was not ideal for children

I have stayed in five of the six Disney hotels at disneyland resort Paris (Not including Davy Crockett's Ranch) and thus far the one I have missed is the Disneyland Hotel itself. Therefore not including those two the Hotel New York is my favourite one so far. The hotel itself is in the style of 1930's art deco with towering skyscrapers and colourful decoration.

I stayed at this hotel in December 2008 and stopped in a lake view room (which costs extra) but I fealt it was worth it, especially at christmas time as we were ideally placed on floor 7 in the centre of the hotel directly above the large christmas tree and facing the centre of the ice-rink. This meant that every time we looked out our window we saw the tree first thing on a morning, which starts the day well and also when I took my oldest daughter ice-skating my wife could watch from the bedroom as the younger ones had often fallen asleep from the days activities.

The location of this hotel is excellant, it is situated at the end of the disney village and a 6 minute or so walk through the village will get you to the entrance of the parks. You are at one end of lake disney next to the large balloon and a minutes walk from cafe-mickey.

The hotel rooms are really clean, well serviced and come with the usual disney extra's such as mickey mouse shampoo and shower gel etc. One of the main reason's I like this hotel though is that as a family we always go during the christmas period and this hotel provides you with a cooked breakfast each morning (which is of high standard and served in the restaurant) which on a cold winters morning helps fight off the cold that little bit longer. The other hotels provide you with the usual cold continental breakfast which is really nice also, but a bacon sandwich does help first thing when your on your holidays!

On arrival and departure the reception desk staff were very helpful and it always appeared to be staffed well at other times of the day aswell. The Disney shop within the hotel as always is quite small but you only need it for drinks and snacks as you can buy as much Disney merchandise as you want in the parks themselves and have it brought to your room for you.

While at the hotel we ate at the Parkside Diner Buffet twice, which is a complement as we usually eat at different locations each night but it served very good quality food, within the hotel itself.

The hotel does have a pool but it's not been created with children in mind as it is quite deep throughout therefore I would recommend anyone with children take the short walk (2 minutes) to the pool at the sequoia lodge hotel which is fantastic for kids and big kids alike.

Overall this hotel was simply brilliant I fully intend to return this time taking advantage of the empire state club, (again costs extra) which provides you with extra's such as a VIP fastpass and exclusive eating area for breakfast etc.

Summary: An excellant hotel that I will return to!

A good review, although details such as cost might make it more useful...
