Premium Review Dunblane Hydro Hotel: Dated and in need of refurbishment (183 words)

Tired, worn and dated are words many would use to describe the Dunblane Hydro, owned by Hilton Hotels. Due for a refit in late 2009, the hotel is, indeed, badly in need of refurbishment in the communal areas. Who could resist staying at this famous and majestic hotel, stunningly situated in over 10 acres of glorious landscaped grounds, on a hill overlooking Dunblane and the surrounding Perthshire countryside? Dunblane is one of Britain’s smallest cities, as it has a Cathedral, well worth a visit, but sadly Dunblane is remembered for the massacre that happened on my birthday in 1996. A day I won’t forget. It was the reason I had celebrated a birthday that I was here though! A time to pamper myself, relax and enjoy retirement. Easily reached by train from Edinburgh or Glasgow or by good road links we used TOMTOM and he guided as safely to the curved driveway, giving ...  Read the complete review
