Well, lets just say you really do get what you pay for!

We spent four nights in Easy Hotel Kensington for £190.00 for two people in total, this was over a weekend, and far cheaper than anything else I could book in London at that time.

Booking was really easy, go to their website select dates, room type, pay, print off confirmation. Really easy - so no complaints here. You can have a choice of rooms - small/standard/special needs - these are on the ground floor as there is no lift, with window/without window. There is also the choice of double bed or twin, the later is obviously more expensive as it needs more space.

Finding the hotel was really simple, the hotel was signed with its trademark orange boards so once you were in the road, it was really easy to spot.

Checking in was pretty simple, just flashed the confirmation slip and that was that. The staff were really friendly.

So we had chosen the standard size room - which was pretty small so I have no idea how tiny the small room was. It was literally the size of a bed and toliet/shower area. But it did the job. We didn't have a window - which brings down the cost, which was a big negative here. I didn't think it would make such a difference. I really wouldn't want to spend so long staying in a room without a window again, it really is quite disturbing to the system!

The bed was really comfortable and had nice clean sheets. There was no other furniture, but two hooks to hang clothes on.

The bathroom, was more wet room but had a couple of shelves for bottles etc, and just a shower. There was always hot water and when we arrived it was really clean.

The room was basic as I had expected, there are plenty of photos on their website so it really wasn't a surprise. But there was no carpet on the floor and it didn't feel very cosy or homely. It was a shame though that the walls were so thin between rooms, if the next door people were whispering you could stilll here every word. The walls weren't brick or plasterboard even, it was sort of plastic panelling. The underground was nearby and as we were on the lower ground floor we had to put up with the noise/vibrations.

There are no teamaking facilities, but you could purchase one at reception for 50p and there were vending machines offering reasonable priced crisps, chocolate and cola. NEarby were all the major supermarkets and plenty of restaurants so eating out wasn' t a problem if not a bit pricey.

If you just need somewhere clean to simply doss for a night then this is it, probably great for people on business. Not so great for a romantic weekend away, but if thats as far as the budget stretches then there are worst places to stay.

Summary: You get what you pay for

At the time you could not find a hotel for a comparable price, in central London, to cover the four days. Perhaps if you booked further in advance (I was looking three weeks in advance) and with various special offers you could get a better price. But trust me I tried!

This is really cheap but I'd hate not to have windows. However, if Plip Plop can find a Travelodge in the same location for the same price or less than he's a legend!
