Me and my familly stayed at the sheraton gesira on the nile, at cairo for 2 days,it was not so much of a resort more of a hotel. we entered cairo with a weird sense of insecurity,everyone attacks you at the airport they all want you to go with them,with us feeling allianated we decided to opt for safe"sheraton"they were fairly expensive but they provided a trusty service they offered personal taxi tours to the pyramids,cairo museum,carpet factories & much more,they had a 4-5 resturants in the building with a good range of hotel shops,they also done a wonderfull boat tour at night on the nile(belly dancers&dico,dinner included)the bedroom had amazing ... I stayed for a long weekend at the El Gazira Sheraton Hotel in Cairo in 1997 as a result of a prize from Tesco. The hotel is actually situated on an island in the middle of the River Nile. It is a very tall building with approximately 30 floors. Each bedroom has its own balcony –we could see the Cairo Tower (a bit like our Post Office Tower) from our balcony and a short way down the Nile. Other rooms had a better view of the river. On the last but one floor at the top of the building there is a coffee restaurant which we didn’t discover until our last night.
