      Advantages

      Disadvantages

I stayed here in Oct 2002 for 8 days on business booked through Expedia - no problems at all with the booking process. The hotel is situated at the border of midtown and the Upper West Side, it is 1 min from the Lincoln Centre, 5 mins from Central Park and 10-15 mins from Times Square. There are 2 subway stations within 5 Mins. I never felt unsafe in the area. On arrival I was allocated a standard double room, this would have been fine for a 2/3 night stay but was cosy for 8 days. The room was en-suite with usual facilities - tea, coffee, TV & Video, etc., there is a video vending machine in the hotel. The 1 downside to the room was that there were no heavy curtains just nets and a roller blind and this didn't keep out the noise of an air con unit on a neighbouring building. I asked to be moved and was, to a bigger room at no extra cost. The hotel has a reasonable bar on the first floor although on one night this was closed for a private function, there are also safety deposit boxes next to reception and reception will change dollar travellers cheques at no charge. The big plus for the hotel was the staff who were always friendly and courteous. I can recommend this as a reasonable Hotel ideal for a weekend trip say. In Nov 2003 I stayed at the Days Inn on 8th Avenue - I cannot recommend that hotel.
