Advantages: Value, Friendly staff, Good Pool

Disadvantages: Too much walking

Main thing that attracted me with this hotel was the price. 59 dollars per night for a view room in July. People have said that the Venetian, Bellagio and Ballys we're the best but all they are, are hotels really. Buildings with thousands of rooms and thousands of people. Also, be prepared to walk for miles as this place is HUGE. I have never walked so far in my life, my trainers we're worn out by the time I got home, anyway;

Excalibur Rooms,
This hotel was clean, comfortable and friendly. We had a view room in Tower 2 on the 19th floor. The view was right down the strip and opposite the New York, New York hotel. All we could hear was the rollercoaster going round the hotel, but never had time to go on it, looks great fun though. The rooms had a nice bathroom with huge shower. Hairdrier was provided and all your soaps and stuff. Clean towels every day and all folded nicely, very important!! All in all couldn't fault it at all.

Hotel in general,
The pool was lovely also. Very busy when I went, first week in July. Quite a few kids but not as many as I expected. Lovely reception staff, well the one we saw anyway. We asked her everything, best place to eat, drink, trips to do etc. Very helpful. Food was good too, all buffet style and about 8-9 dollars each for as much food as possible. You only need one meal a day there as there is so much.

Casino,
I had never seen anything as big in my life as a Vegas casino, and this was no exception.
If your a gambler then great, spend all your time pouring money in the slots and poker tables. But if you only like a flutter then that's fine too because they have 5 cent slots, although people tend to put in a dollar and get 20 goes. While your doing this the waitress comes around offering drinks. Now with America you have to tip everyone, that's one thing what annoyed me, but it's what they do. The Bell boy, guy who opens the hotel door, guy who opens the taxi door,
guy who opens your hotel room door.
After returning though a friend said to me that you should give them a dollar tip BEFORE asking the waitresses for a drink, that way they give you a bigger measure and come round more often. Good tip if your planning a trip now.

Trips,
Before you spend all your money in the slots, take a trip over the Grand Canyon in a helicopter. Personally, this was the best thing I have done in recent years. Expensive though at 199 dollars each but you get to fly over the hoover dam at first then onto the canyon. Once there you land on Indian territory and have a champange lunch. Absolutely the best thing to do while in Vegas, I would have paid a grand for that trip. Don't bother with coaches or planes, I was told by everyone who had done all of them that the helicopter is by far the best. Coming back to Vegas just seemed so minor and just man made buildings with false people in them.

All in all, a great place that you have to go to once in your life at least. Don't just do the Vegas thing though, do the Canyon trip as well by helipcopter only, well worth the extra. Hotel was great too and as good as any at 100 dollars per night.
