The shared bathroom was in an extra hut between all the others; to reach it you had to go outside and walk there without any shelter. Father's is the most famous Guesthouse in the Cameron Highlands; a former British Hill Station that surprises its visitors with cold weather, lush hills full of tea plants and scones with freshly made strawberry jam - and all of this in the middle of Malaysia! And I say "middle" quite literally; it's not far away from any of the other main tourist destinations, 4hours from Kuala Lumpur, 6 hours from Penang and only 3 hours from Taman Negara. Buses from all those places will bring you to Tanah Rata which is in the middle of the Cameron Highlands. From the main bus station to the Guesthouse it is either a 5 min walk or a short taxi drive. Fathers Guest house has the perfect location on a small hill overlooking the tiny town of Tanah Rata in the Cameron highlands. Situated outside the town, but only a 3 minute walk into it, it has fantastic views and is tranquil but still has access to any activities the town has to offer. If you call the owners in advance letting them known when you will arrive then they will collect you from the town and save the walk up the hill with heavy bags. They also tend to be one of the touts who wander the bus drop off area and so if you arrive by bus then there is almost always someone there who you can ask to get a lift up the hill.
