My wife and I have made two 14-night visits to this all-inclusive hotel; the first in September 1998 on honeymoon and again in May 2001. On both occasions I have thoroughly enjoyed my holiday. Playa Paraiso is very quiet, although there was a considerable amount of building work in progress on my last visit, and I suspect this little peaceful haven is about to expand somewhat. There isn't much of a beach, but hotel guests get free admission to the lido across the road which is a very acceptable substitute. This is a large seawater pool with fountains and waterfalls and a bar from which you can get drinks and ice creams as part of your all-inclusive entitlement. The entertainment teams are enthusiastic and offer activities such as archery, darts, rifle shooting, and volleyball during the day and arrange various evening entertainment, witn many professional shows. The food at the hotel is very good and plentiful, and has a good variety. I can particularly recommend the steak! The staff, on the whole, are very friendly, particularly the bar staff. As this hotel tends to be priced towards the cheaper end of all-inclusives I would say it is definately very good value for money, and would consider a third visit myself. There are, however, one or two things to be careful of. Most evenings, stalls are set up in the foyer selling things such as art, swimwear, watches etc. When I was there last time, several people bought expensive gold jewellery which turned out to be fake. Also, occasionally, a time share tout will wait at the top of the driveway to the hotel. They will try and make small talk and offer you a free taxi to the market when there is a queue for the bus. You get the free taxi, NOT to the market, but to some timeshare complex. The camera shops in the main street are also a scam, the prices they display are just to get you inside.
