Advantages: Extra bedroom & plenty of sofa space

Disadvantages: pool loungers & lack of parasols

These apts were above average for budget accom in Puerto Rico. This is my 7th time in Puerto Rico and aside from the Terrazzemar suites these are the best apts ive stayed in. We do always go for the budget option as most time is spent on the beach/bars so this review is meant for like minded travelers. These are classic 2* apts so I wouldn't necessarily recommend these to my parents! We booked through alpharooms.com

There is always at least 3 of us on this holiday & the annoying thing about most apts in this situation is that someone has to sleep on the sofa in the living room - not ideal! In this case we had a 2 storey Apt, large living room with corner sofa, pay TV and open plan kitchen. kitchen has modern fridge/freezer, kettle & 2 electric rings - no micorwave. Few steps up on the landing there is a seperate toilet & sink, upstairs a twin bedroom with wardrobe, double room made up of 2 twin beds, balcony & wardrobe and another toilet & sink this one with a shower cubicle. There is also an outside drying room also accessed from the stair landing. The front patio gets sunshine in the afternoon/evening.

The apts were clean and the bathrooms looked like they may have been renovated in recent times. The shower was excellent. Apts were cleaned every couple of days & the maid was very nice.

Although clean the curtains/bedding are old/faded & really could do with being replaced.

Like most resorts there are cats here, however they are friendly and well looked after. For the first time in Gran Canaria i didn't see one cockroach - anywhere in the resort - surely a miracle!

Downsides - pool is a nice size but there isn't much room around it for sunloungers. The sunloungers are also of the static kind - ie you cant adjust the headrest. Also there weren't any parasols which in that heat wasn't great. for this reason we went to the beach everyday.

For those people who make their own way to the apts - reception is at the top of the complex. The entire complex is gated so you need a key to get in & out. There are lifts that take you up/down to the various levels.
Location was good - few minutes down to the commercial center & ten minute walk to Puerto Rico beach. we did hire a car so drove to Amadores beach as the facilities are more modern & there are more eating options. Amadores beach club to be recommended if you want to splash out one day - 8.5euros buys you a fabulous sunlounger with thick mattress, parasol, towels & table service

Summary: Good Budget accom
