      Very helpful

loved the feeling of the apartmant

I went to Italy at the end of October to celebrate my 30th birthday. We found the medici hotel on www.travelrepublic.com and booked it after reading the reviews for 2 nights for 2 people in a private double room for £71.

The hotel's address is Via De Medici, 6-red, 50123,
Florence, it's right in the city centre, only a minute away from the famous dome. It has a spectacular roof terrace overlooking the dome, have had lovely pictures taken there. The hotel is about 10 min walk from the train station, the river is 5 min away, everything is in walking distance.

We arrived quite late in the evening and the receptionist said that the room we booked didn't have any bathroom. We got really confused and asked for a bathroom on the same level but said there was nothing available. We showed him our reservation and because of that we got upgraded,an apartmant 3 min away from the main building. At first we were not happy with this as our reservation was clearly for the main building and when you don't know Florance it can get a bit scary. So we decided to take up the room without the bathroom for the first night but by the time the other receptionist gave that away so we were stuck with the apartmant. Went there,it was huge and lovely. Had a great rustic feel of it. Had our own wet room, telly and central heating (it was really cold and wet in Italy at the beginning of November), so we could dry up our shoes every day. The cleaners came to do our bed in the morning but by the time they arrived we were out anyway.

for breakfast we had to go back to the main building, it was between 7 and 10, and got 2 rolls each with a piece of butter, jam, one biscuit and 2 dried bread. You could choose coffee, tea or hot chocolat, it was ok-was worth the money we paid for it. It was included in our booking prize. The receptionists were ok, not 100% helpful, and we could leave our luggage in the telly room for the day of our departure.

The hotel has 2 stars, it was ok for us as we were on a budget, can recommend it to anyone. It was clean and organized, can't say bad thing about it. I recommend you use a trusty website to book it as they are always fully booked,so any problem arise you can just contact the website you booked it through.
