Advantages: cheap, tidy, clean and modern

Disadvantages: Retaurant alomost non-existent, no tea and coffee in rooms

Firstly, this hotel is in an excellent location: It is not in the city centre but it is near two Metro stops-although Placa Molina metro isn't the best connected, it's only a couple of stops to Placa Catalunya which is. Even better it's literally round the corner, 1 block away. Alternatively you can use the Fontana stop which is a little further away but still no more than 10 minutes walk.

The hotel is in a great neighbourhood, no worries about being here after dark and no noise from the street. There was a little noise at night when people returned to their rooms but I must say that once they closed their doors we felt like we had the place to ourselves.

Everything was spotless and the cleaners did a great job each day. The lobby was clean and modern and the rooms nicely furnished and well equipped with plenty of toiletries and even complimentary toothbrushes.

There is a free Internet station in the lobby which was a little slow but served its purpose.

We had a lovely room-everything we needed. We did not miss having tea/coffee facilities in the room-we used the vending machine in the lobby a couple of times-you can get a token from the 24 hr reception. The coffee was passable enough but really, if you were here for pleasure rather than business, wouldn't you rather have your coffee in a gorgeous little street cafe? There are loads nearby, along with some nice restaurants and boutiques.

There is a breakfast but it didn't look very impressive and I wouldn't pay their prices. I wouldn't bother eating in the restaurant either as the kitchen looked very small and they had no customers in the whole time we were there so I doubt they are used to cooking regularly. Anyway, why eat there when you can wander into the city and pick a beautiful tapas bar?

All in all-couldn't fault the place-we got our room half price (allegedly) for 170 euros for 3 nights and thought it was great value for money (and I have been called...thrifty!). The price was comparable to hotels in the more seedy areas nearer to the city centre-I know where I'd rather be!

Summary: Good value for money
