Advantages: Great location, great hotel

Disadvantages: Food not so good for vegetarians or fussy eaters

Royal Star Hotel was great! There are 2 outside pools which meant it was never over-crowed and 1 indoor pool and a jacuzzi as well. The 3 bars are great and the entertainment every night in the main bar was fantastic - we even enjoyed the stuff meant for the kids as the entertainers get everyone involved.
All inclusive is well worth it - 3 great big meals every day with snacks in between if you want them. There was always food available whenever we wanted it. The drinks were fab as well. Although, for All inclusive top branded drinks aren't included, you ask for whatever you want and they just give you the cheaper local version of it but I couldn't even tell the difference!! Cocktails of the day were always nice.
The only thing that we didn't like was that the food wasn't very good for vegetarians, kids or fussy eaters - mostly salad, fish, chips, meat, but a great selection of fruit and desserts.
The hotel is in a good location - about 10 minutes walk to both of LLoret de Mar's beaches, 5 minutes to a small English square, 2 minutes from a supermarket, 10 minutes from the main road with all the bars, arcades, clubs and shops. Loads of souvenir shops!!
From Lloret de Mar it is a 10 minute bus ride and then an hour train journey to Barcelona which is well worth a visit. There are also 2 water parks nearby which you can get to easily by their free bus.
We'd have said the hotel was more 3* than 4* but we still had a brilliant holiday and would go back again!!!

Summary: Great stay in Lloret de Mar
