I think it is essential to do your homework when visiting somewhere like New York. It is such a huuuuge place, with so much to see and do, that unless you have a rough idea of what is located where, you'll end up spending half your holiday too-ing and fro-ing and subsequently waste a lot of time. The first time i went to New York (in 1999) i was in total awe of the place. It was the first time id ever travelled to America, and i dreamt about in NYC for years previous. This is the hotel we stayed at all those years ago. At the time, The Herald Square Hotel was very competitively priced (i won't say cheap - This is New York after all!) and we arrived we were pleasantly surprised with how nice the building itself was. Introduction: Every year, my partner and I take a trip to NYC. This is more of less so I can catch up on the latest theatrical happenings on Broadway. We had our flights sorted, so needed a hotel.
