I confess to being somewhat of a Hilton fan. I like their hotels. I'm staying at the Langham Hilton, London, in two weeks' time (review to follow) and the Hilton Aberdeen Treetops the week after (again - await a review). In this review on "Hilton in General", I'm hoping to focus on their on-line booking system and Hhonors (sic) loyalty scheme. I hope it's not viewed as "Off Topic"! People are gradually becoming more and more willing to trust on-line booking services. Secure web sites and improved reliability have helped to encourage us to use on-line booking. Hilton's web site - and their superb back-up service - is ... Read the complete review

I recently stayed at the Hilton Hotel in Luxembourg for three nights as a weekend break. This hotel has only recently been taken over by the Hilton chain. It was previously known as the Hotel Inter-Continental, which had built up a very good reputation for business clients in the area. Overall, I found the hotel comfortable, clean and spacious, and the staff friendly and courteous. ROOMS My room was decently sized, with very comfy twin beds and all the extras you'd expect with a five star hotel. The bathroom was nicely decorated with both a bath and shower. Unfortunately, I developed an allergy to the pillows in my room, which ... Read the complete review

I love to go on vacation, and I feel that Hiltons are really a strong and consistent line of hotels. Not only are the Hiltons great, but their extended hotel family, which includes Embassy Suites, Double Tree, Conrad, Hampton Inn, as well as others, are really also very high end. Hilton also partners with credit card companies to offer Hilton Honors reward points. Each hotel falls under a category, and this category determines how many Hhonors points it takes for a free night. Depending on the credit card you have, you earn a certain amount of points for every purchase. They partner through American Express and VISA, but the American Express is way better ... I fly from Manchester airport two or three times a year and normally spend the night before at the Radisson SAS hotel. For my last flight however, the Radisson was full and so I opted for the Hilton which is two minutes from Terminal 2. I always find that first impressions count and was somewhat dismayed that the receptionist was rather snooty and aloof when I was checking in. Why is it that in high-class hotels the staff always seem to take on a superior air? As I was only staying for one night however, I wansn't unduly bothered about the friendliness of the staff and made my way to my room. The room itself was small, but very well ... I have stayed in a range of Hilton Hotels over the last eight years or so, mainly on short breaks or weekends away. I always try to book one that has a swimming pool for that extra special treat. In the main, most hotels have a good pool but on a couple of occasions in the past the pools were being refurbished. Try Cardiff Hilton for the most fabulous light airy hotel layout and a tank pool suspended on the second floor of this city centre hotel; fabulous for a rampant weekend break in this cultural oasis. In some of the refurbished hotels twin and double rooms are ideal for a couple with good clean en-suite bathrooms and toilets. Some of the older properties ... Read the complete review
