Advantages: Many features, nice staff

Disadvantages: location

I recently vacationed here on May 20-22 2009. I drove up from North Phoenix, about 75 miles away. The ride up the I-17 was very smooth, as the speed limit was 75 mph outside of the main city. The drive took about an hour and 10 minutes.

When I arrived at the hotel, I was not sure where to go as it was so big. The entrance is right over a little hill, so it was hard to see the sign that said "lobby". After missing it and turning around, I finally found the parking area for guests. The lobby was very close from the parking lot and I had no problem walking there with my luggage.

When I arrived to the hotel, I walked up to the front desk to check in. The lady was VERY friendly and polite. I gave her my last name, and she looked me up. She verified EVERYTHING, the length of my stay, my payment method, preferences, and number of guests, just to make sure it was correct! She then gave me a map of the resort, circled the two pool areas and told me what time they closed, then told me how to get to my room. It took me less than two minutes to check in.

The lobby was very spacious. There was a waiting area with a TV, and two computer with complimentary internet access. There was also a gift shop that sold gift items from Sedona and necessary items such as chap stick, aspirin, other health care needs, magazines, and just about anything else you could need.

Once I got in my room, it was everything that I expected from the description of the website. The pictures looked exactly the same. I ordered a King suite room. I had a living area and a bedroom that were seperated. The air conditioning was throughout the entire room, and was controlled by an electronic thermostat in the main room.

The living room had a flat screen tv, microwave, sink, fireplace, desk, couch, and doors to the balcony. In the room next to that was the bedroom, which also had another flat screen tv, clock radio, chair, two end tables, and two lamps.

The bathroom was accessible from either the entry room or the bed room. The sink was separate from the toilet and shower, which was useful if you needed to wash your hands.

The bed an an ample amount of pillows. I believe there were at least 6 pillows on the bed. I only use one when I sleep, but for those people that use many, you would still be fine.

The resort itself had a lot to offer. There were two pools with hot tubs, a restaurant, spa, cafe by the pool, and fitness center. All of these attractions were in walking distance from any room in the resort. There was also a golf course right next to the hotel (less than 100 ft away).

The only problem is the location. The hotel is on the beginning of Sedona, and anytime I wanted to go to the "main" part, it was at least 4 miles. 4 miles isn't that far, unless you drive on a road with a lot of roundabouts and slow speed limits. It took me about 20 minutes just to get into town.

Upon check-out, I did not have any problems. I went down to the desk after I packed my stuff, handed them the room key, and was out in less than two minutes. I got a different girl at the desk, but she was also very friendly. She asked me how my stay was and if everything went well.

Overall, this had to be one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed at. Everyone was friendly, and the room was amazing. I had a great view and lived in comfort for 2 days. I would stay here again the next time that I am in Sedona.

Summary: A great resort!
