“ Address: 18, cours de l'Elbe 77 700 Serris „
We stayed here for 3 nights end of July 2013 as a family, including 3 kids (ages 12, 10 and 1), having booked a family suite via Booking.com.
I was concerned at finding the place as I noted previous reviews mentioning it being hard to find as it's a new building. We entered the GPS co-ordinates found on their website directly into our sat-nav and were taken directly to the front door. We'd also booked car parking but were lucky enough to get parking on the street right out front. Serris is a new area which is so lovely and clean and bright and we had no hesitation leaving the car in the street outside. There is also designated car parking underground at 10 euros a night. Check in was quick and the reception chap was friendly and polite and spoke good English. Having paid in advance there was no bill to settle although city tax in France needs to be paid at 1.10 euro per night per adult.
We found the apartment to be clean and comfortable with a modern contemporary feel. We had a one bedroom apartment with a sofa bed in the living area which faced the pool. The boys reported this to be comfortable and there was still plenty of room for us even with the bed out. I contacted the HiPark team in advance to request a cot in our room (free of charge). Although this wasn't there on arrival, on inquiring it was brought to our room & set up for us immediately. According to the literature they also have high-chairs free of charge. There is also small games room for kids in the reception area with games consoles etc. There is a modern flat screen TV in the room which has little English channels, but we don't go on holiday to watch tv so wasn't an issue! There's also free wifi with code being displayed in the tv menu, it worked perfectly for us with no issues. The room was quiet and comfortable and we didn't hear any noise from our neighbours. The air conditioning was also a welcome feature during the heat of July.
The swimming pool looked lovely but alas we were so busy at Disney we didn't a chance to sample it. The bathroom and toilet are separate but this wasn't an issue for us. There's a iron & ironing board and a hoover which we made good use of after lots of crumby baguettes & croissants!
We booked our Disney tickets for 2 days via CE Multiavantages and by booking the apartment independently we were able to save a lot versus a Disney hotel/package.
You can see the Disney Village and the Panoramagique balloon from the front door of the apartments. The free shuttle bus runs frequently from the front door but being so close we decided to walk there & back, which I guess was about a mile.
Close by also is the Val D'Europe shopping centre where we had a nice & relatively cheap meal at Del'Arte. An Auchan supermarket is also found at the far end of the large shopping centre if you need supplies. If you just needs bread/croissants there are little boulangerie type shops without needing to trek onto Auchan.
All in all a very enjoyable stay close to Disney & we will definitely return to HiPark Serris.
