Not long ago I had some visitors and I couldn't accommodate everyone so I found myself searching Cardiff for a good place for them to stay. I wanted something cheap, but good quality and in a good location. I tried many places but some were very very expensive and then I found this Holiday Inn.

I have stayed at Holiday Inn's in the past and have been happy so I decided to give it a go. This particular one was £50 a night for a double room and compared to most places I had seen this was cheap. There were a few cheaper places but the rooms were very basic and were a compromise on quality.

The Holiday Inn had a king size bed, en-suite bathroom, TV, kettle, cups and tea/coffee and ample storage space. The room was a good size and it was clean and nicely decorated with simple colours and fixtures giving it a stylish and comfortable feel. It's very easy to find, straight off the A48 and it is signposted.

The location wasn't quite what I wanted as it is quite a distance to town. It cost £12 for a taxi back after an evening in Cardiff town but between two that wasn't bad considering it costs £6 to get to my house from town and I live 3 miles away. Considering how much cheaper it was than the hotels in town, I think it was still a good price even if you take the taxi ride into account.

Summary: A good place to stay if you're visiting Cardiff and don't mind being a little out of the centre
