Brilliant hotel! (Holiday Inn Hotel Amsterdam)

This is a brilliant Holiday Inn! I paid for this stay in Holiday Inn Hotel points, and had no problem doing so. The staff were so nice, despite the fact that our stay was free and we in no way looked like we were going to spend any further money at the hotel. They gave us a map and showed us where to find things. They helped us with transportation, etc. They even gave us a slightly nicer room than we had booked!
This hotel is just outside of the city, but is right by both the tram system and is on the subway system. It would take very little time and money to get into central Amsterdam by public transport. It is also very close to Amstel Park.
The building was in good shape and had a cool moat around the outside. The inside was well furnished and contemporary. The rooms were average size and reasonably clean. Our room had a GIANT glass window that was the whole width of the room. The view was absolutely breathtaking! We were able to sit on the windowsill and look out over Amstel Park and the lights at night.

The only problem was we kept getting charged for breakfasts we did not want or order. They removed the charges from my account every time. However, when asked if there was a way to stop this from happening the following day, we were told to just tell the front desk once again we did not take breakfast. I thought that was a bit rubbish. But given the overall quality, in the rest of our visit, I would have to say this is a really nice hotel!

Oh also, if you're taking the train in from the airport, you want to get off at Amsterdam RAI, and make sure you've stamped yr ticket.

Summary: A nice and classy hotel in Amsterdam.
