Newest Review: ... 6 am in the morning and brought back half the beach on our shoes. I wouldn't have wanted to be a cleaner that day. I had a large bed which was two large sized singles pushed together with a deep red throw over the bottom half. The most bizarre and imposing aspect of the room was the ridiculous bed-head which was decorated in an ugly design with two cherubs. I think every room has one of these and somebody should take the designer who came up with that and bury him or her in a sand dune. Take a look at the photo - it's just plain weird. I have just spent two days at the Holiday Inn in Ijmuilden in Holland. I'm still puzzled about where I was but even more puzzled at why anyone would take their holiday in a place like this but clearly Dutch people DO take holidays there. Getting to the hotel we were taken in a taxi which drove through ever more miserable and desolate industrial landscapes, passing a large, ugly steelworks and ferry port and finally dropping us at the Holiday Inn. If you can 'look the other way' this is a beautiful spot, just a couple of minutes walk from the kind of pristine white beaches lined with trendy beach bars that few people would imagine could be possible in Holland. ...  Read the complete review
