I wentto New York in October 1999 and was there for Hallowe'en. The weekend I was there also co-incided with the World Series final which the Yankees (New York's team) won so the city went completely mad. I stayed in Manhattan for 4 nights, Thurs to Monday. I stayed in the Holiday Inn in Wall Street. This is a 5* hotel but it only cost $117 per night because it was a special weekend rate. The financial district is quiet over the weekends and this is definitely a corporate hotel but is offered cheap to tourists at the weekend.
