Arriving at Schipol Airport a few months back without any pre-arranged accommodation, I was heavily relieved to find that there was a board available whereby you could peruse and even telephone Hotels. Being possibly the worst flyer ever to come out of Jarrow I wasn’t originally looking forward to traipsing around Amsterdam looking for somewhere to stay, and when I happened across an advert for the Hotel Continental telling me that it was literally 2 minutes walk from Centraal Station, my mind was immediately made up.
