I stayed in this hotel about 2 years ago and I would recommend it for a weekend break. It cost Euro90 per night then as it was fairly new but it seems to have gone up quite a bit and the average rate seems to be about Euro140 per night.

Hotel Cram is centrally located from Placa Catalunya and Catalunya is the nearest Metro station. It is about a 10 minute walk, but it is a busy street so if you have heavy luggage I would advise grabbing a taxi. The area is lovely and on the way to and from Catalunya there are some lovely shops including Bershka and even a Topshop!

Check in for us was very efficient and we were impressed when we got to our room. The rooms are a lovely size and have a 'boutique', trendy feel to them. There was a flat screen TV and a well stocked mini-bar, as well as lighting that could be set to reflect your mood. For example, there was a romantic setting, reading setting etc etc.

The bathroom had a frosted glass door (not sure if this is still the case) so you would have to be fairly relaxed with your other half if you were sharing. Put it this way, I wouldn't stay there if it was my first romantic weekend with a new partner!!! However, we didn't mind and the shower more than made up for it! There was a sliding door into the shower and the shower head was massive, meaning that you could shower at the same time without one person being freezing. This is a fantastic idea and 2 people can get ready at the same time!

Hotel Cram also has:

*A cocktail bar - with lovely cocktails. I tried them!!!
*A restaurant (didn't try it)
*Free laptop computer service
*Swimming pool - small but perfectly formed

They also offer free films (new releases) in their rooms.

We stayed there for 2 nights and found it to be a very clean and luxurious hotel. If we had a question it was answered promptly and for the most part we didn't need to have any interaction as everything was perfect.

I would definitely recommend this to a friend if they were thinking about going to Barcelona for the weekend. I am not liking the new price hike but I suppose that is a testament to how popular it has become.
