Hotel Kanta

Just returned from two weeks in the Kanta Residence. This being the self-catering bit of the Hotel Kanta complex. Would I stay there again? Well, yes I would. But, would I go self-catering? Probably not. The Hotel Kanta is one of many tourist hotels in Tunisia. It is well run. I was impressed by the standards of service. Our apartment was cleaned on a daily basis. With fresh bed linen every day as well. Nothing seemed to be too mush trouble for the staff. The advertised satellite TV had had its tuning buttons removed. Our TV was stuck on a film channel. We went to Port El Kantaoui in september 99 for two weeks in September and it was our honeymoon. The resort itself was very luxurious and as we did trips to other resorts we were of the opinion that it was really nothing like the real Tunisia being a totally purpose-built tourist resort. It was full of big, white super clean hotels,ours being the Hotel Kanta. it took a bit a bit of getting used to a totally different culture, people always pushing to sell you something and having to hackle in all the shops,something we never mastered to well.
