Everything was functional and clean, a new television picked up a good selection of channels (including BBC1, and BBC2 which was handy for keeping up-to-date with news). The daily room clean was always thorough and the hotel gave the impression of being well looked after. I didn't need to use any of them, but there was a sign in the room which said that ... more ... numerous items, such as alarm clocks, ironing boards, etc, were available in reception free of charge. You can also borrow laptops and DVD players for a small charge.

Hotel Sipermann is a hotel in the centre of Amsterdam, just a short walk from the main square, and around a five minutes taxi ride from the train station. I stayed in this hotel for four days and was suitably impressed. It is a budget hotel, there are no meals provided, but this of course means that it means it is inexpensive. A single room cost me around 38 pounds per night, plus a 5% tourist tax which all hotels in Amsterdam charge. When I arrived, the owner helpfully gave me a map and drew on the places I wanted to visit and also other places which he thought were of interest.
