My husband and I arrived at the hotel before the other 4 and it was no problem us checking in separately, we took advantage of this time before the others arrived for dinner and decided to go for a swim. The pool was fairly small and had a Jacuzzi att he side of it, when we arrived it appeared as though some swimming lessons were taking place. We had an early morning flight from East Midlands so wanted somewhere to stay, we'd normally stay in the Travelodge at the services but this time we were going with my in-laws who are more partial to the finer things in life...therefore they booked the best hotel for the airport - the 4star Thistle East Midlands - There is also a Hilton nearby but one of them is a nervous traveller and wanted to be as close to the airport as possible and not have to rely on a shuttle service. The Thistle is located on site and within walking distance of the terminal, you can get a shuttle if you wish but we found it no problem at all in walking, there is a path all the way. ...
