Newest Review: ... there. The price for a room was then $30.00. In 1998 I returned by then the price was up to $45.00 but I managed to get them down to $40.00. (Inflation is now rampant in Laos so I have no idea on current prices). The hotel was still as welcoming as ever. If you let them know in advance what flight you will be on they will arrange an airport pick up. Meals were good and very reasonably priced. Drinks were also reasonably priced. Sit on the balcony and watch the sun go down ! It's also interesting just watching the street life and the families over the road. Hotels in Laos vary considerably, the pace of change is staggering and information here will be out of date by the time you get there. I first went to Laos 8 years ago and then again 3 years ago. A friend of mine was out there last year. When I first stayed in Luang Prabang it was in the very faded ex colonial Hotel Phousi. Now revamped and said to be OK. There were only 2 other hotels and a couple of guesthouses in the town. One of those hotels was the Villa de La Princess (Now the Villa Santi) which had only just opened.
