In October this year I had the opportunity to stay in Brussels and my colleague suggested The White Hotel on Avenue Louise so I booked a room. We went out for dinner after our work was done for the day and then he took me to the hotel to drop me off. Luckily for me, he decided to stick around and check that everything was OK rather than just drop me and run. The receptionist was in a bad way and explained that she was "really really really sorry" but the torrential rains of that evening had caused leaks in part of the hotel and my room wasn't available because there was water coming through the ceiling.
