Good hotel (Hotel Vivienne)

Disadvantages: toilet down the hall

My girlfriend and I had a nice stay at Hotel Vivienne. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and quickly sent up to our room. There was no check-in procedure, he just gave us our room key and a city map and helped us into the elevator. When I asked him whether he needed our passports or other information, he just smiled and said, "Relax. This is Paris!"

Our clean and tidy room (#5) was the smallest on the floor but adequate for our needs. There was a double bed, sink and shower, t.v. and a small balcony that looks out over rue Vivienne. The toilet was down the hall (I hadn't specified one when I booked the room). I would imagine that there are rooms with toilets but I'm unsure.

The hotel is very well located (2nd Arrondisement), just a 1 minute walk to the Grande Boulevards Metro stop which in turn was a very short distance (5-7 minute trip) from the train station Gare Nord where we entered Paris.

All in all a very good and affordable stay.
