Advantages: Near slopes and nightlife

Disadvantages: Noisy at night

I was pleasantly surprised with the Hotel Camelot which is in the buzzing ski resort of Pas De La Casa. The location of the hotel is fabulous, literally steps away from the slopes and vibrant nightlife.

Hotel Camellot is a very popular choice for Pas de la Casa clients and after staying there myself I can see why!

Unfortunately coaches aren't allowed into the centre of the town so we had a short walk up the hill, which was slightly annoying after a flight and 3 hour coach transfer. The good thing was that all our baggage was transported for us.

Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by reception staff who were friendly and the check in was super fast.
As the accommodation rates were quite cheap I really wasn't expecting the rooms and facilities to be great. How wrong could I be?! Our room was large and the bathroom looked practically new! Basically furnished with a double bed, cushions, a chair, TV and a phone. The shower was really powerful and hot, just what you need after a hard day on the slopes! The bathroom also had a bath.
Our room was cleaned every day and linen/towels changed. The only downside to the rooms is that the walls are thin! So if you are thinking of an early night....you might think again! Pas De La Casa is well known for its nightlife, the clubs are open very late so guests return at all hours and can be noisy!

The bar had happy hour in the evenings and there were always a nice relaxed atmosphere. Sports matches were shown in the bar lounge and the place was always very warm :-) Good food is served in the bar, this is a popular place to eat in Pas De La Casa. There is also a pool table for 2 euros.

Breakfast was a bit of a let down. It consisted of toast, cousants, yucky orange juice, sometimes scrambled egg, sausages and cheap cereal. To be honest every where is so cheap to eat in the resort so if you are looking for a hearty breakfast before you hit the slopes, then my advice is to eat elsewhere.

I booked this hotel through Thompson Holidays. It is part of the TUI brand which includes Crystal Ski holidays. Crystal was therefore the tour operator for this trip. They were very organised and helpful. The package included return flights, bed & breakfast and resort transfers. (ski hire and passes were not included) This package deal cost around £175 per person (January 2009) and can vary depending on what time of year you go.

I do not recommend Hotel Camellot for Families. As I mentioned earlier the walls are really thin and the hotel generally caters for younger groups and couples.

Overall this hotel exceeded my expectations!

Summary: Cheap and cheerful with safe and relaxed atmosphere!

Hi! Welcome to Dooyoo. Although its not obvious, the category is for review "in general" and you have written on one specific hotel. Thhis means that people searching the internet for info on this hotel may not find your review. In future if you don't find the title you want, you should make a suggestion to Dooyoo to add it as a new title. I can help you if you are unsure how to do this.

In the meantime, could you mention in your review the approximate price and whether you booked this as a package?
