Advantages: Excellent location, All suite hotel, Buffet Breakfast included

Disadvantages: none spring to mind

We stayed three nights in the Embassy Suites in Atlanta. The location is ideal for visiting the city as it looks out onto Centennial Park and is within in walking distance of all the major attractions and shopping.

The hotel is a modern looking building, which we found quite easily by car. They have a car park at the rear, but I would recommend valet parking as it makes life so much easier.

Inside the hotel there is a large lobby with a reception desk. There is a large, ornate atrium to which all the rooms open out onto. If you are lucky as we were you will get a room looking out onto Centennial Park (where the Olympics of 96 was opened – and the bomb went off). If you don’t get one of these rooms it is worth asking for one.

Because the hotel is an all-suite hotel, you get a living area with sofa, TV, desk and a separate bedroom with another TV and storage. There is a full bathroom and a kitchenette area with fridge, coffee maker and microwave oven. The furnishing was nice and bright and we found the service to be good. Included in your room charge is a buffet breakfast. They have lots to choose from, including eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, fruit etc as well as drinks. Eat as much as you want. You will also get a newspaper on weekdays.

The location as mentioned before is ideal. You can easily walk into the heart of the city with its restaurants, shopping and attractions within minutes. If you want to go further, you can catch underground trains and buses etc nearby.

We visited the city during the 4th July Independence Day celebrations and all the events seemed to happen in Centennial Park. The road race (mini marathon) starts here, the carnival starts and ends here and the night time fireworks go off here. Great for staying in your room to get out of the heat and going out to see the entertainment at the last minute.

All in all this hotel has to one of the best in Atlanta as far as it’s locat
ion and facilities go. We found that the tariffs varied greatly throughout the year and by visiting several hotel booking websites was able to almost half the cost of the room rate given to me by the hotel itself. We paid $109 per night. So the motto is, look before you book.
