If you are lucky enough to be going to Austin Texas I can strongly recommend the Austin Motel for some local charm and character. Situated in the heart of Austin's South Congress it boasts gretat access to all the wonders the city has to offer. South Congress itself is in my opinion the best street in Austin so you are right in the heart of the action. A stones throw from the motel is The Continental Club which is one of Austin's premier music venues and in my view the best.
