I visited Bali with my fiance during 2000. We stayed at the Hotel Sanur Beach in Sanur. Location Sanur is on the southeastern side of Bali, about 5-10 minutes drive from the capital Denpasar. The beaches at Sanur have made it a popular resort centre, with a number of both big and small hotels. Sanur village has plenty of restaurants, bars and typical Balinese stalls and shops. Hotel Sanur Beach This 4/5 star hotel has over 400 rooms and is situated right on the beachfront amongst lush gardens and palm trees. Rooms: All rooms are air-conditioned; we had a deluxe room with a balcony overlooking the gardens. The room was ... Read the complete review

We went to stay at The Bali Hilton in Nusa Dua on the 26th Sept 05 and came back yesterday, had the most amazing holiday ever, we want to go back for our honeymoon. The people are so friendly and can't do enough for you, the food is fabulous. There is so much to do that you do not need to go outside the hotel, Pool table, underground pub with band, 4 restaurants (Italian, Indian, International, Japanese) ping pong ball tables, water basketball, mini golf & also a Golf Course across the road from the Hilton, Baliase Theatre in the hotel, a massive pool it was so warm we stayed in the pool until 7:30pm! Beach is so nice you are served drinks & ... Read the complete review

Go to Ubud if you visit Bali. The main beach area of Kuta ( the location of the previous bombings) are full of tourists and tourist hotels. However there is much more to Bali than just the beaches. Go inland to the beautiful Ubud and then hire a car, or a bike or just walk... and you will experience a world which is akin to something out of National Geographic! We stayed at the Matahair cottages as we were intrigued by the website pictures with the themed rooms. It was a beautiful location but unfortunately the rooms were a little musty and worn. However the themes did add something of the exotic which we loved. The afternoon tea was a nice touch (served each day for ... Read the complete review
