Disadvantages: Small dinner servings, Very slow service in dining room

The Hotel Bedford is a 4 star hotel situated in Central Brussels, near the Belgian Parliament and the main tourist areas such as the central market square. The hotel itself was renovated in recent years and is quite luxurious in appearance, the rooms are a little small, but comfortable and with all the amenities that you would expect and despite its central location, it was quite at night.


The breakfast room is large, serving a buffet breakfast with an excellent range to choose from. There was no waiting for a seat, even though the hotel was busy at the time.

Beware though, we were on an organised tour which included dinner at the hotel. Our party was pretty small, but after ordering we had to wait 45 minutes for the 'modest' entres to arrive and as long again for the main course, which again wasn't very substantial. We ate out the following night, having been extremely disappointed the first night, but to prove that the first night was no accident, the rest of our party ate dinner in the hotel, the following night and the delays were just as long.

So I'd recommend the hotel for comfort, location and breakfast, but unless you've the patience of Job, I suggest you eat dinner elsewhere. Fortunately, there's a large number of restaurants nearby, where apart from the choice, you'll also find excellent value and fast service, as we found out.
