Advantages: Western, comfortable, Welcoming
Disadvantages: Decoration, Food not western enough, Not home
The hotels in China are not what i expected. Although China was not what i expected in general. The Country as many who have been there will tell you is not always beautiful. Infact it feels full, but there are 1/3 of the population of the world living there. Hotels all of a sudden, pop out from nowhere with typical western fashions appearing. Not like the rest of the buildings which are typically asian. The dirty old looking buildings are moved aside for a pleasant looking hotel. Each city I went to, had nice hotels with the typical styles of a Holiday Inn or Full board hotels. Normal room services and the like which is usually similar in American places of temporary residence. If your worried that the Culture shock is ever lasting then the Hotels can help you ignore the local area. The only time you see high prices aswell are in western catered hotels but it still isnt that high. The food is generally fine with strange menu`s still having an asian influence. Overall i`d say that the hotel`s are fine and make you feel as comfortable as can be in such a different country. The TV might not be anything to go by but most places have a pool, gym and other activities to keep you going. In a comcluding opinion i`d say that the Chinese have done fine in making westerners feel comfortable in there various land.
