Hotels in CreteNewest Review: ... a satellite TV that did not work apparently and a few easy chairs in one corner with a book case. There was a massage chair that took Euro coins but I didn't give it a try to see if that was in working order. On the other side of this large room was the Breakfast room it did actually have two saloon swinging doors to separate it and it looked quite quaint. A large wicker basket was on a table full of sun tan lotions half used with a hand written sign saying 'Help Yourself' obviously left in rooms by previous guests. I stuck to using my own supply but thought that it was worth a mention. ***Rooms*** There are 25 rooms at this hotel 8 ... more |

Hotel Aloi ***Introduction**** My husband and I fancied a last minute deal to Crete but didn't want to pay a fortune out so I trawled the internet to try and find a bargain. I came across The Aloi Hotel in Annassarus for a good price with flights costing £460 for the two of us, this included breakfast so I was very interested. I did a quick research into the travel review sites to try and get an idea about this hotel because I have heard about some really dodgy places in Crete and didn't want to end up in a dump. They have their own web site and the photos looked lovely, I read a mixed bag of reviews and thought ... Read the complete review

We stayed at the King Minos Palace Hotel in May 2008. We booked this through Portland Direct via the internet. We stayed at this property for 2 weeks on a half board basis. I went with my partner. We are a young couple and decided we would like to try Crete as we had never been to Crete before. The food at the hotel was very very nice. The main restaurant had a lovely terrace with a panoramnic sea view. We sat on this most evenings eating our evening meal. The breakfast at the hotel was your typical british breakfast. They had cereals, bacon, egg, sausage and toast etc. For the evening meal on most nights they were themed nights for example we had a greek ... Read the complete review

After reading and seeing on the television all the bad things about Greece and the state of apartments I want to tell you about the apartments we stayed in. It was called Virginia Studios and apartments and is in Aghios Nikolaos on the island of Crete. Ag.Nik as it is called by most of the locals is about an hour and a half from Heraklion which is Cretes Airport. The apartment itself was great. The first thing you noticed was the seaview which can been seen in most areas of the apartment. We were less than 15 minutes walk to the beach. The apartment itself had, as you walked in the door, a kitchen with a microwave, hob oven, table ... Read the complete review

General ******* The Istron Bay Hotel was where me and my family stayed for the week while we were on Crete this easter. We stayed on the east part of the island, and wanted somewhere relativly quiet but good facilities. Istron Bay Hotel was recommended to us as being family run though large (over 100 rooms) and very children friendly and good food. Sounded great, and it was living up to all expectations and the home of a great holiday. It was the equivalent to a four star hotel (Crete has a different system of grading), so was a mixture of good conditions and good price. We stayed in two rooms for a family of five, which included two small children. The ... Read the complete review
