The first Sofitel hotel was opened in Strasbourg, France in 1964. Now Sofitel, part of the hotel brand of Accor, has 180 hotels in 53 countries around the world. They employ approximately 12,500 people in different countries around the world. The one that I am going to review is the one in Hurghada, Egypt and it is built on forty hectares in the Arabian desert and has the luxury of its own private beach by the very clear and lively Red Sea. It is 450 kms south of Cairo and 280 kms north of Luxor. I went to Egypt at the end of April 2003 as a break to get away for a week, I found a really good deal to a hotel called Three Corners Rhiana in El Gouna on the Red Sea, it was a 5 star all inclusive by the beach. It is a 5 hour flight mine was with Monarch (bad start), I booked on the phone after looking in www.viewdata.net which shows all accommodation offered and what travel companied offer it so that can be a help, well I booked it and got to Cairo airport after a 3 hour delay and was told we had to stay in a hotel overnight as they have to travel to resort in convoy due to bandits (I thought they were joking but they were not) and we had missed the last ...
