Pleasand value for the price (Hotels in Finland in general)

Advantages: Modern, Clean, Central location

Disadvantages: Expensive, limited variety of food

Have been to two hotels in Finalnd, Linna and Omena. Both of them are located right in the centre of Helsinki within walkable distance to any attraction (though I would say even if you get a further hotel somewhere within city boundaries it willl be only a matter of 10-15 minutes commute to any corner of this tiny but nice capital).
I would say general level of hotels in Finland is very high. It is all quite new and modern, with proper service. So personally I would not be afraid at all go to for 3 stars or so as believe it will be very decent.
Omena hotel is a chane of hotels with self-survice. There is no reception, you pretty much check in and out yourself, can get breakfast (if you include it) at nearby restaurant... Quite a new idea to me and could be great considerring it can reduce costs quite a lot.. The only down side of this hotel - room was quite small. But very causy and modern at the same time.
Linna is a fabulous place to stay in, it looks like an old church and I spent my wedding night there with the most comfortable bed ever! Very strongly would recommend this hotel to anyone.
One more thing, the food served is very typical Finnish though, which means no fried breakfast, but rather tosts and sandwiches...

Summary: Good service and condition even of lower stars hotels
