Advantages: fun for all the family
Disadvantages: The price is high if you book through the hoilday book
My partner and I have been together for over six years now and we have never had a holiday together. We decided that it was about time to get away from it all and have a nice family holiday. We wanted to go to Ibiza, (My family and I have been to Ibiza lots of times on late deals and they have always been excellent) we wanted to go fully inclusive and we wanted it to be as cheap as possible. So we went to Co-op travel and booked a late deal to Ibiza, we didn’t know what hotel we would be staying in or which part of Ibiza we would be put in so we remained open-minded about what we might get. We flew with Britannia Airways. (Well that’s all I’m going to say about that because I don’t want to start getting all worked up maybe this will be in another opinion) The coach pulled up outside the hotel and I must say I was very pleased. We stayed in Portenox, this is a quiet part of Ibiza. The hotel was called Hotel El Greco. It backed straight out on to the beach and there was a water park across from it. It had a swimming pool, sun terraces a poolside bar a lounge/bar and a T.V room. There were two kids clubs. Snappy gang 4 -7 years. Planet vibe 8 -14 years When your children join up for these clubs they get a free hat, t-shirt and badge. You can leave your children in these clubs for up to 2 hours. (When we went it was 11.30 - 1.30 but these times may change) My children are only 1yrs and 3yrs so I couldn’t leave them although they said my children could join in with the group as long as I stayed with them. There was a mini disco every night. This was so funny, watching all the kids dancing about to music and playing games. (Veil veil hey Bes) There was also family entertainment at night. Steps Tribute - This was one of the best live groups I had ever seen, true talent. Spanish dances - These were good but I’v
e seen it all before. Quiz - good fun I’m not very good though. Magic show - The children really loved this. Stupid cupids - This was a show where couples answer questions about their relationship. (Very entertaining) The entertainment in the day was really good it ranged from table tennis competitions, pool competitions, darts, table football, shooting, bowls, water polo and more. Now for the meals The hotel is great but the meals were ooh lovely. The meals were buffet style and believe me there’s something for everyone. There was rice's, salads, meats chip, potato's they had a pizza part where you could order whatever pizza you wanted and they even had a Chinese selection on three days a week. It was heaven; my partner and I love Chinese food, what a bonus. The restaurant was all air-conditioned so it was always nice and cool. Breakfast 8am - 10am Lunch 12am - 2am Dinner 6pm - 8pm In between these times you could also go into the restaurant and get snacks only from 11am to 12 midnight so don’t stay out to late. The rooms weren’t anything special; they were small but cosy. They are all air-conditioned, so at night you didn’t get too sweaty. It was hard adjusting the temperature on the shower; I seemed to get burnt one minute and froze the next. Each room had a T.V and you got some sky channels on it, we spent most of our time at night watching those stupid Chinese challenge programs. (They were great) We booked fully inclusive so we got all our drinks FREE, being a big larger drinker a spent the entire week drinking larger. My partner and my mum drank loads of spirits and cocktails. The kids got free drinks, free ice creams and lollies so they were happy. You can’t get brand named drinks free like Fosters you have to drink the Spanish brands but they aren't too bad. My dad was pretty p***** off because the bar didn’t sel
l bitter and the larger made him feel a bit bloated but that wouldn’t bother anyone who likes larger and shorts. If you stay at this hotel you also get free entrance into El Greco’s Water Park. The water park it just across the road, it has about 6 flumes and a bar (still free drinks) children and the adults will love this. You also get free bike hire although we didn’t bother with this has our children are a bit young for sight seeing on bikes. We paid £1500 for 6 adults and 2 children that was for everything (insurance, fight meal, pre-booked seats) We would love to go back but after looking at the brochure price, which is £619.00 per adult and £169 per child. We just can’t afford to pay these prices so it’ll probably a late deal for us again. I will leave you by saying if you’ve got kid this is probably the best place you could ever dream of visiting. Outside the hotel the sites were nice but we didn’t really leave the hotel much as everything we wanted was in the hotel.

- 20/07/01 Neat op, sounds like you had a blast and got a very very good price on your late deal. It's probably not the type of holiday I would personally go on,I'm into more the independant travel now after doing one all inclusive holiday, it was great but I would rather taste the country abit more, but as long as you enjoyed it that is the most important thing ! :) |

- 19/07/01 Lol, noticed someone has beaten me to it! I was going to tell you about the title, but I guess I don't have to now! It had the same effect on me as it did leahslad - it made me want to read it just to see if it was a deliberate mistake!
Great op by the way! :) |
