This is not a comment on hotels in Illinois in general, but on one particular one in a town whose name I do not care to remember, somewhere near Decatur. On a business trip to Illinois, I discovered that our ever helpful travel coordinator had booked me into a hotel which was a three hour drive from the town I was to visit the next morning. In a hotel guide, I found the number of a motel in the town itself, and called them for a booking. A room was available. I asked the price. "Eighteen dollars, with breakfast". Surely I'd misheard.
