Advantages: Location, Cheap
Disadvantages: Small
When we decided to go to Vegas we had not booked a hotel so we searched the internet and rang up the major chains to see what the prices were. What was really important for us was the location as we did not plan to hire a car once there but to our amazement we were horrified to find that the prices were quite high as it was a weekend. Undeterred, we continued until we found a gem of a hotel on the Strip opposite Treasure Island and next to the Venetian. The gem of a hotel I speak about is called Casino Royale as the price was approximately half what we were quoted from anywhere else that had rooms available on the strip. We booked a double room for $39 excluding taxes and were expecting very little but what we found was superb for the price. The room was big enough to sleep 4 comfortably and possibly 6 if you wanted to cram people in and was equipped with the following · Ensuite bathroom with power shower · Colour TV · Mini bar · Room Safe · Air conditioning (a necessity) · Ironing Board · Clock Radio · Chairs with a small table The rooms were also clean and well maintained. The price does not include breakfast but with all the choices in the hotel and the neighbouring environment this was more of a minor inconvenience. The hotel itself has a casino, albeit very small in comparison to its competitors but seemed to be doing a good trade as well as offering free frozen margurita’s daily to tempt you inside. It also has a loyalty scheme for playing the games offering some points which could be redeemed for various merchandise. Other main features of the hotel included · Swimming pool (small) · Ample car park facilities · In house restaurant chains (eg Baskin Robbins, Subway) Therefore, if you want to visit Vegas and want to be able to spend money in the casino rather than just on your accommodation then this hotel offers more than most due to its prime locati
on. Within walking distance of all the main casino’s and shows it is a true champion for the budget traveller and gets my seal of approval.

- 10/12/01 Free Margarita's at The Casino Royale, I can just hear it, we stayed at harrah's which I think was across the road on the same side. They handed out leaflets everyday for a free drink. We had breakfast there in the Italian cafe underneath. Check out www.bigempire.com/vegas for cheap prices. I was sick after finding this, I paid £70 a night. |
