My parents arrived in LA and found that the accomodation they had arranged was no longer available to them and so had to find something else. The information desk in the airport pointed them in the direction of the Travellers Aid desk. In 1999 I stayed in the Marina Del Rey hotel, Santa Monica. LA is such a spread out place it was difficult to choose somewhere to stay, so we decided on near the beach at the Marina Del Rey. Virgin mixed up my flights so they put me in here overnight. The place is vast (like everything in America!) with 1,236 rooms. There is a beautiful fitness center which is open 24 hours a day, plus an outdoor swimming pool and three jacuzzis. This is very much a business hotel - with cabin crew and business men everywhere. Not the cheapest option by a long shot if you are intending to stay in the Anaheim area, probably primarily to visit Disneyland.
