Disadvantages: Dull to hang out in

A truly gigantic place which must have 35 or 40 floors and covers nearly a whole block. The recption has the feel of a large municipal building with endless people dashing around. Up in the rooms it does shine though with space and quite tastful if concervative decor. Best bet is rooms high on the north side of the building, 27th floor and up. This gives you great views over central park .

The Bar bits were undergoing a revamp when I Visited in march. What was left was the lobby bar which is tiny and sterile.

All up it is comfortable and realy handy for uptown shopping but doesnt realy make you feel at home. A place to sleep soundly not to love
