Advantages: Good Location, Friendly Staff

Disadvantages: Slow check out at peak times

Located on Lexington Avenue between 50th and 51st streets, the Metropolitan is fairly well located. It is a short walk to 5th Avenue, The Rockerfella Centre, Times Square and many other tourist attractions.
The rooms are reasonably priced (varies from season to season and there are also often special offers etc depending how you book). The room itself is pretty spacious with a good size bed. TV, air-conditioning, telephone and a radio alarm are provided in the room. The bathroom contains a bath and shower, plenty of toiletries and a hair dryer!
The staff are friendly and helpful, room service breakfast and a daily newspaper are available upon request.
There is a cocktail bar and restaurant downstairs in the hotel serving a wide variety of dishes (including vegetarian). There is also a nail salon, business centre, gift shop and tourist information point all on site.
All in all my stay at the Metropolitan was enjoyable. I would say it is a mid-priced hotel, its not for a budget traveller, but if you have a little more cash to spend on comfort, its really very good.

Hi and welcome again after the long break. Read around a bit, so that you get the hang of dooyoo. - It would heighten the readability of your op enormously if you left two lines free between the paragraphs, your future readers would be grateful.

I've noticed that you don't read other people's ops and that you've got only few reads for your own ops. If you don't read other people's ops, rate and leave comments the dooyoo community can't get to know you, consequently only few readers find their way to your site. You can increase the number of reads easily when you start reading and commenting (and earn some money this way).

While I was in New York I stayed in the Holiday Inn on 57th Street, right near Central Park. T'was only about $50 a night, I think I got it through laterooms.com, I'm not sure. Great city though!
