Hotels in Orlando, Florida are generally quite good but to be honest if you go there on the cheap like we have done a few times you get what you pay for.

It really depends on what you do on holiday, if you are out all day everyday and merely just need the hotel as a base to store your clothes and sleep in, then the basic hotel/motel will suit you just fine.

If you like to spend time and go back to the room and get ready for a night out have a few drinks and relax then I would suggest paying a bit more for your hotel, as from personal experience going back to a bog standard room thats dull and maybe not the cleanest is not pleasant. I spent the least amount of time possible at one hotel we stayed in, and to be honest its not nice and kind of ruined my holiday knowing that I wasn't comfortable with the hotel room.

The location wasn't good, on the road next to Old Town, so there was lots of noise. There was no swimming pool which didn't really bother me as wouldn't have used it anyway, as I find hotel rooms pretty much reflect the rest of the hotel ammenities. The balconey doors didn't seem to shut properly, which I have found to be the case in lots of the cheaper hotel in Orlando, a quick maintanance fix to a door that clearly needs to wripped out and done again is quite satisfactory in America.

So my advise after staying in plenty of hotels in Florida is to pay that little bit extra so you have a nice, comfortable stay in the Sunshine state!!
