Advantages: quiet , competitively priced, central
Disadvantages: just too good
Oh you lucky people, I am about to expose you to the best kept secret in Parisian Hotels. I have lived in Paris for about 9 years, and since moving back to the UK have frequented Paris as often as possible, staying in all manner of hotels; searching high and low for the best possible hotel around. After all the pain stakeing research, I can finally say that it paid off as I have unearthed the best hotel around in terms of positioning and price. The hotel is called Hotel De L'Elysee and is situated just off the Champs-Elysee. If you are walking down the Champs-Elysee towards the river (Seine) / The Louvre then it is on your left hand side just before you reach Place de la Concorde. The full address is 12, rue des Saussaies, 75008 Paris. Tel: 01 42 65 29 25 Fax: 01 42 65 64 28 It costs around about £55-£60 a night. The style is very much in the light of Louis XIV and the managment are extremely friendly; even to the British!!!! This really is a cracking little hotel!!! UPDATE: The hotel comes complete with a quaint little eatery serving 3 meals a day, however in the 7 or 8 times that I have stayed in this hotel, I have never eaten there due to the plethora of other places to eat out and about in Paris. The rooms are spacious and as mentioned already bear the mark of the famous Louis era. With high ceillings, porcelain bathrooms and traditional Parisian views out of the rooms this really is an outstanding place to stay, and when considering the price (whilst remembering that you are on one of the most expensive roads in the world) this IS a catch!!
