Claiming to be a 5 star hotel, the Grecian Park certainly falls short of equally rated hotels elsewhere in Europe. We stayed for six nights and booked the package ourselves. This worked out about the same price as going with a tour operator, but also gave us the benefit of scheduled flights at respectable times of the day, and private transfers (a taxi) to and from the hotel. Although we arrived on a holiday weekend and the hotel appeared to be full, there was always a plentiful supply of sun loungers around the pool and on the lawns. Breakfast also seemed to be better over the holiday period, I assume because food was being used quicker. Overall service was reasonable. Certainly the staff could have been more attentive, but they were certainly never rude or grumpy. Minor irritations surrounded a perpetual shortage of towels in our bathroom, and the fact that the hotel is rather remote. The advertised shuttle bus runs four times a day (not in the evening) along to Ayia Napa, but can only take 8 guests - it's first come, first served, so get there early. In summary, if you want a reasonable quality beach hotel, it'll do, but don't go with your expectations set too highly.
Last year my girlfriend and I decided we would go on holiday to Cyprus as it was a place neither of us had visited before. When we arrived we were bundled onto a coach with other holidaymakers that would take us to our hotels. Now it just so happens that our hotel was the last drop off point on the coach drivers route thus allowing us to have a peak at most of the hotels we had decided not to stay at. We must have stopped at approx 10-15 drop off points and hadn't seen anything that really caught our eye until we stopped at our hotel 'Hotel Anastasia, Protoras'. We had to double check our details when we walked in, Marble floors, Glass dome ceiling, Vines hanging from the roof to the top of the reception area an absolute dream of a hotel that we were fortunate to be staying in for the next 6 nights. I have got to say I haven't seen a hotel quite like it before let alone stay in one. To top it off the staff were excellent, the food was first class and the facilities were second to none. An absolute must place to stay should you go to Protoras. Craigc.
