Hotel Dolphin - Sri Lanka

This hotel is in a fantastic location, right on the orange sand beach, you do get hassled from the beach boys but the sea is so warm it is well worth a visit. We went this October and stayed in a fantastic cottage we ended up getting a free upgrade as the hotel wasn't that busy. The restaurant is open plan and has plenty of choice the beetroot curry is fantastic and there is always a chef close by to inform you of the spice content. The soups are amazing but take your own tea bags if you like your home comforts. There is a free DVD rental service as the entertainment is a bit naff but they do give it a good try. We had our own taxi man David who is lovely and used to be a tour guide he showed us all the great places to visit and the locals are so friendly. This hotel has an infinity pool and we were lucky enough to witness a wedding where they dressed and elephant and the grounds beautifully. The porters and room boy's are very friendly too and nothing is too much trouble.

Summary: fantastic, would go back in a second
