York's deli next door is ideal for (large) takeout or eat in sandwiches, salads and soups. There is also Muffin on the Run, selling, you guessed it, take out muffins for breakfast. Pipers Bar and Eatz is also downstairs, offering similar bar fare to the Lobby Bar, but with singing waitresses(!!) - no idea what it's like, the idea frightens me! The Acadian Room was th...more

Premium Review Hotels in Toronto in general: The Royal York Hotel (2832 words)

Rating:

When I first stayed at the Royal York seven years ago, I didn't know what to expect from a Canadian Pacific Hotel, as it was then, and imagined it would be like any other 4 to 5 star hotel. I got married last week, and we received a night in the illustrious Castle hotel in Windsor as a present. (Thanx mum and dad!) We arrived there just after midnight and went to the bar for a coffee before retiring for the night. We also ordered a couple of sandwiches. It took over 20 minutes to get our food, but I will admit, they were huge. Well presented and lots of salad and crisps. We went up to the room which was luxurious! The queen size four poster bed was heaven! My complaint about the room was 1 thing. No wardrobe! Now, call me stupid, but, if you are staying overnight somewhere, you are going to get undressed, and have fresh clothes on ...  Read the complete review
