Advantages: Quiet, beautiful surrroundings, not too expensive, good food, cheap drinks, great for kids.
Disadvantages: little enteraintment, slighty out of the road from the town centre!
Hibiscus Gardens is a quiet and peacful 3 star complex in the Armutalan aera of Marmaris. This is 15 minutes walk from Marmaris' long beach and nightlife. There is a dolmus service taking you straight to the beach for 40p per person. The hotel is surrounded by a few restaurants just incase you descide to opt for a somewhere differnt to eat.
Hibiscus Gardens is basically two aparments together in one area. This 'area' is better described as a tropical heaven. Nearly all of the ground surrounding the aparments is clean-cut grass. Which the old gardener sprinkles clean everyday. The whole place is full of tropical flowers and tall growing plants. Round the back of the hotel is a large flowery garden. This garden also contains a mini golf course and small childrens colourful park as well as spectacular, large fruit trees, growing any type of fuit you could imagine! The surrounding of this hotel are spectacular and better than any four or five star hotel.
This hotel is a hotspot for couples and older people, but also is well equpited for children. There are two large pools, one medium pool with a large slide, and one infant pool with a mini slide. There is two pool tables, mini golf, table tennis and the whole safe surrounding of the hotel. The hotel is enclosed wwith only one exit/entrance, this is where the reception hut is and where security stand. There are usualy two security men at the top of the stairs. The park is popular for children, although, it is pretty small and very rarely monitered.
There is little entertainment in the hotel as it is basicly a quiet hotel. However there is a busy bar and a quiet bar. One is pretty isolated at the second apartment run by one or two barmen, whilst the remander of barmen are working in the larger bar/restaurant. every fornight there is a Turkish Night. The food is traditional Turkish and well layed out. The Turkish nights consists of belly dancing, folk dancing, mini shows and you get a complementary drink free! So this hotel has a good balance of entertainment and relaxation.
Hibiscus Gardens are strickly self catering. This is no problem, though, as the downstairs retaurant serves the most beautiful food in Armutalan. There are several Turkish dishes and English dishes. The food is very cheap and comes at a quick service. The drinks are also the cheapest in many hotels with a large list of cocktails, Turkish drinks, fish bowls, soft drinks and teas, espressos, coffes ect. If you wish to eat in a quieter place theres always the open option of the quiet bar. Even though it is not linked to the kitchen, you can still be served food from there. In my opinon, its 10/10 for cuisine quality and price!
The rooms are very basic but large! There is a kitchenette, WC, kettle and fridge, convertable sofa bed and in the bedroom, two single beds, a wordrobe, dressing table and two balconies in most apartments. The rooms are kept clean with extremely plesent, hard working maids who sometimes customise your beds with flowers and petals. The only downpart of the hotel is that the covors arent very gentle, but these covers are the same everywhere in Marmaris! Theres is even an optional wooly blanket for each bed but with tempretues around the 30's at peak season , you wont be needing them!
The staff are very friendly, the sunbeds are always free and the atnosphere is quiet and relaxing. The biggest advantage of all is, the hotel isnt too expensive. With prices around £500 for flight and accomation for two weeks here at peak season, you certainly have nothing to complain about. This apartment is run by the Mytravel/Thomas cook group and this hotel can be found at any of their websites. I reccomend the hotel to everyone, except those who are looking for a lively, hardcore, partying atmosphere. The hotel overall would be a 7/10 for me!
Summary: totaly reccomended
